Joan Hutton Jazz Project
The All Originals Jazz Series presents the Joan Hutton Jazz Project, featuring Joan Hutton (alto and tenor sax, bass clarinet), David Milne (saxophones and flute), Jendeen Forberg (drums), Joan Griffith (bass), and Jesse Mueller (piano).
Joan Hutton is a performer, music educator and composer residing in Minneapolis, MN. The Joan Hutton Jazz Project was created in 2017 as an ensemble to showcase her original jazz compositions, as well as compositions by other members of the group. The group consists of Joan Hutton on tenor and alto saxophones and bass clarinet, David Milne on soprano saxophone and flutes, Jesse Mueller on keyboards, Joan Griffith on bass, and Jendeen Forberg on drums. The group’s first engagement was an hour-long interview and in-studio performance on Joan Griffith’s “Talking About Jazz” program on 88.5 KBEM FM. Click on Listen to hear excerpts from that show.
Joan Hutton also is a member of the ANCIA Saxophone Quartet and the jazz-funk group Rare Medium. She has a large studio of private clarinet and saxophone students around the Twin Cities region and is the saxophone instructor at Augsburg College.
