The Caprice Saxophone Quartet was founded in 2011 to bring engaging music for saxophones to Minneapolis-St. Paul audiences. In addition to standard repertoire, Caprice is dedicated to fostering the music of our time by performing new music by emerging and established composers, holding calls for scores, and collaborating with local Minnesota composers. The quartet presents their own concert series and has appeared in venues ranging from recital halls and schools to churches, lounges, and city parks. Members of the quartet are: Duke Sullivan, soprano saxophone; Kurt Hattenberger, alto saxophone; Katherine Bergman, tenor saxophone; Sarah Minette, bari saxophone.
