Andrew Weathers (b. 1988) is a composer and improviser from Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He received a BM in Music Composition from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and studied Electronic Music at Mills College. Weathers plays guitar and banjo with occasional electronic augmentation.
His music blurs composition, improvisation, and appropriation, taking key elements from folk, experimental, and punk traditions. Weathers perform solo and leads a group called Andrew Weathers Ensemble. He regularly performs and records as a part of Parties, Kirtan Choir, and Tethers. Along with Andrew Marino, Weathers operates a record label called Full Spectrum Records. crow with no mouth promotions curates a concert series in the Twin Cities presenting music seldom heard in the Midwest. To date the crow concert series has presented 96 musicians from 13 countries in 40 concerts. The majority of these events presented musicians in their Minnesota debuts, including Keith Rowe, Michael Pisaro, Jürg Frey, Hong Chulki, Olivia Block, Tetuzi Akiayama, Toshimaru Nakamura, Nate Wooley, Reinier van Houdt, and many others.
