Spitting Image Collective is teaming up with Boston-based contemporary music group Hub New Music to create new works for their instrumentation of flute, clarinet, violin, and cello. Called “contemporary chamber trailblazers” by the Boston Globe, Hub New Music is forging new pathways in 21st-century repertoire. Through creative programming and ambitious commissioning projects, the quartet of “intrepids” (WQXR) celebrates the fluidity and diversity of today’s classical music landscape. Its performances have been described as “gobsmacking” (Cleveland Classical) and “innovative” (WBUR).
Hub New Music's Studio Z performance features world premieres by Spitting Image Collective composers Katherine Bergman, Joshua Clausen, and Daniel Nass in addition to compelling works from composers throughout the nation. Hub New Music's Twin Cities residency also includes a concert at Fallout Arts Initiative on Oct. 26 and a Lowertown Listening Session (hosted by Zeitgeist) on Oct. 24 focusing on the creation of the new works by Bergman, Clausen, and Nass. Tickets can be securely purchased by credit card or through your PayPal account in advance, or by cash, check, or credit card at the door. Tickets purchased online will be held at the door. Tickets are also available at door.
Please consider adding a $5 donation to Studio Z with your ticket purchase.
