Jazz at Studio Z presents a star-studded double bill featuring Erik Fratzke's Fake Accent at 7 p.m. and Anthony Cox / Brandon Wozniak Duo at 8 p.m., with a free master class IMAGINATION, HYBRIDITY & IMPROVISATION presented by Erik Fratzke at 6 p.m.
Erik Fratzke is renowned for his work as a bassist in Happy Apple and guitarist in Dave King's Trucking Co, as well as his group Zebulon Pike. Fake Accent brings his many musical interests and talents together in his own vision. Fratzke will be on guitar, joined by Nathan Hanson on saxophone and clarinet, Cooper Doten on bass, and Cory Healey on drums. Bassist Anthony Cox is known for his work with several leading musicians including Geri Allen, Dewey Redman, Dave Douglas, John Scofield, Pat Metheny, Gary Thomas, Marty Ehrlich, Ed Blackwell, and Joe Lovano. He is joined by saxophonist Brandon Wozniak of Atlantis Quartet and Dave King Trucking Co. -- Jazz at Studio Z Concert Series features a diverse lineup of Minnesota's greatest jazz musicians and is dedicated to providing the community with greater access to the music and the opportunity to learn directly from the musicians at the workshops each month. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
