Formerly known as the American Composers Forum’s Tuesday Salon, Composer Nights are an opportunity for composers to present their work, chat with the audience, receive feedback, and connect with others with a passion for musical adventure. These events are friendly, fun, and always surprisingly varied. Come to share, come to ask, come to listen.
Visit newruckus.org/composernights for more information. This Composer Night features music by:
Carl Franzen presents Thirteen Sisters In E Flat Minor and Makeover World. The late hours at a college reunion. In a small room filled with classmates. All women. Conversations so genuine, honest. A tribute to those beautiful minutes, those friends. "Thirteen Sisters." Change comes to us by accident. Change by decisions made, both planned and unexpected. Change as a challenge to our balance, sometimes with a rebirth. Change in a "Makeover World."
Carl Franzen is a singer-songwriter whose songs have been recorded by John Denver (Back Home Again) and Michael Johnson (There Is A Breeze). His song "Ja Wohl" was chosen to be performed for the 30th birthday celebration of the American Composers Forum. Thomas Johanson presents Tributaries, a collection of short solo flute pieces.
Sandy Waterman presents excerpts from an original show, “Off the Rails, or Villainy in Nicety,” with script by Mary Blouin Auffert and music by Sandy Waterman.
