Formerly known as the American Composers Forum’s Tuesday Salon, Composer Nights are an opportunity for composers to present their work, chat with the audience, receive feedback, and connect with others with a passion for musical adventure. These events are friendly, fun, and always surprisingly varied. Come to share, come to ask, come to listen.

Visit newruckus.org/composernights for more information.

This Composer Night features:

Michael McGee presents Video Word Made Flesh, a 1988 creation that came to life after purchasing a Mac 512k and a couple of synthesizers.

Basil Considine presents selections from Snow White: A Fractured Fairy Tale. What if Snow White were a boy who wore dresses, ended up hiding in a brothel called the House of Seven Dwarves, and fell in love with Rose Red before coming out to her?

Stephanie Nevilles performs her solo piano piece Nocturne in G Minor. Stephanie is a classically trained pianist and composer from Minneapolis, MN. She has performed with classical and theatrical ensembles, as well as with rock bands. She composed a original works for film, musical theater, and for solo piano.

Bryan Schumann presents Weather Patterns for Trumpet and Piano featuring Kate DeVoe Schumann on trumpet and the composer on piano. Minnesota based composer and singer-songwriter Bryan Schumann blends classical and popular traditions and styles in his music. He improvises on guitar and trumpet with Sound Wave Hello and The Eclectic Ensemble, and is the singer-songwriter behind the indie ensemble The Sunshapes. Besides writing music for stage performance, he also composes music and creates sounds for video games.
