Plumeria Winds and Reed⁵
A FIELD GUIDE TO MINNESOTA WILDFLOWERS
Enjoy the wild, colorful, and lively sounds of woodwinds in a performance of “A Musical Field Guide to Minnesota Wildflowers” by local composer Jonathan Posthuma. Inspired by the beauty of Minnesotan wildflowers, this new musical collection portrays a variety of plant species using different combinations of woodwinds such as oboe, clarinet, saxophone and bassoon. Additionally, original watercolors commissioned for this ongoing series by local artist KT Thompson will be displayed in the lobby.
Featuring musicians from Plumeria Winds, a reed trio from Corpus Christi, TX, and Reed⁵ from the upper Midwest, each trio will perform a short set of music followed by a question and answer time about the wildflowers, music, and artwork led by composer Jonathan Posthuma.
This concert is produced as part of "Studio Z Presents," a new concert series curated by musicians in our community, thanks to a grant from the City of Saint Paul STAR Program.
